Successful Implementation of Yanji Budweiser's Energy-Saving Heat Pump Retrofit Sets New Benchmark for Green Manufacturing

Mar 20, 2025

Recently, the "Energy-Saving Heat Pump Retrofit Project for Yanji Budweiser Brewery's Packaging Line and Brew House" has been successfully implemented. This marks significant progress by Yanji Budweiser Brewery in green production. The retrofit has steeply reduced energy consumption and carbon emissions, lowered operational costs and set an industry benchmark for sustainable development in brewing as well.

Dual Breakthroughs in Energy Saving and Quality Enhancement

Since the successful completion of energy-saving for packaging line in mid-February, the new system with heat pumps has been running stably. The overall performance coefficient (COP) has reached 4.1, placing it at the industry-leading level. In addition, compared with before, the upgraded Pasteurizer now saves 0.5 tons of steam per hour, which brings a 60% reduction from its previous consumption. Consequently, this significant reduction in steam consumption not only enhances operational efficiency but also greatly reduces the company’s energy costs, delivering notable economic benefits.

Of even greater importance, the retrofit effectively reduced the beer outlet temperature of the Pasteurizer. The appropriate outlet temperature is crucial for beer quality, as it helps better preserve the beer’s flavor and nutrition. This results in a smoother and fresher taste, thereby the  new system also enhances the overall quality of the beer and providing consumers with a better product experience.

Efficient Heating and Green Empowerment

The energy-saving heat pump system of the brew house was also finished and running stably. Achieving an overall Coefficient of Performance (COP) above 3.0, the system generates 0.72 GJ of heat per hour. This upgrade has achieved a qualitative leap in the workshop's energy utilization efficiency. By providing high-efficiency heat cycle, the system not only meets the workshop's production requirements but also substantially reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions compared to traditional workflows.

Partnering with Hotran for a Greener Future

A high-tech enterprise, Hotran leverages its technical expertise in industrial energy saving and  tailored a heat pump embedded solution for Yanji Budweiser. This solution covers key aspects such as waste heat recovery and intelligent control. This case profoundly illustrates that under the "dual carbon" strategy, the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial practice is the inevitable path for enterprises to achieve a balance between high-quality development and ecological responsibility.
